DraftKey is a native AI writing assistant for Mac made by Aura Technologies. It brings automatic spelling and grammar cleanup, autocomplete, Writing tools, and mechanical keyboard sounds to compatible macOS text fields.

Writing help where you type.
DraftKey works with compatible text fields through macOS Accessibility. Automatic cleanup checks spelling and grammar as you type and applies corrections during a pause. Autocomplete suggests the next words; press Tab to accept a suggestion or keep typing to continue your own thought.
For a different version of a draft, tap Command and Option together, then release to open Writing tools. Choose an action such as Professional, Friendly, Shorter, Longer, Polish, or Clearer, or describe your own change. Review and edit the preview, then choose Insert to return it to your editor.
Keyboard sounds are a separate feature. You can choose a sound profile and control it independently of writing assistance. The website also includes a browser typing test with WPM, accuracy, and free typing.

The Mac app requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later. AI features need at least 8 GB of memory and a separate model download of approximately 1.12 GB. Setup needs at least 2.2 GB of free space for the model, plus space for the app.
Writing is processed on your Mac. Setup, activation, model downloads, and update checks use an internet connection. A purchased license is required to activate the Mac app; the browser typing room does not require a license.
Text-field support depends on the editor. Some custom editors limit Accessibility access, and secure fields are excluded. Read the setup and troubleshooting guide, local AI guide, and privacy notice for details.
