Writing & permissions

The Mac app uses permitted text-field access to offer local autocomplete and rewrites. The current writing engine does not upload your writing to an AI inference service. You control macOS permissions and per-app settings. Website demos use prepared examples; text entered in the typing room is processed in your browser rather than sent to an AI service. Content you choose to send us for support is handled as support correspondence.

Purchases & licenses

Stripe handles payment details and purchase information such as email, transaction amount, status, and any billing information collected at checkout. We can access relevant transaction records for fulfillment, support, accounting, refunds, and fraud prevention; our license service does not receive full card numbers. See Stripe’s privacy policy.

Our licensing database stores an internal license identifier, a keyed hash and encrypted copy of your key, the Stripe checkout identifier, license status, and activation records containing installation identifiers and timestamps. Installation identifiers enforce the three-Mac limit. Requests include network metadata; keyed hashes of IP-based rate-limit buckets help prevent abuse. They are not used as an advertising profile.

Website storage & service providers

Your browser stores sound preferences and typing-test best scores locally. The purchase success page stores a private receipt capability in session storage so it survives refresh; where that storage is unavailable, the capability remains in the URL fragment. Save your key before closing the tab. Clearing browser storage removes these local settings and can remove receipt access.

Vercel hosts the website and licensing endpoints and stores encrypted license records in private Vercel Blob storage. Vercel processes request information such as IP addresses, requested paths, timestamps, and device or browser details to deliver and protect the services. Homepage fonts are fetched from Google Fonts, and model downloads connect to Hugging Face, which receive normal connection metadata. These providers may process data internationally under their own terms and applicable safeguards. The current site does not include advertising trackers or an advertising-consent cookie banner.

App downloads & updates

GitHub hosts Mac installers, release notes, and the update feed. DraftKey uses Sparkle to check for updates and verify signed downloads. GitHub receives ordinary request metadata such as your IP address and app user-agent information. Checks do not contain your writing, license key, or payment details, and Sparkle system-profile reporting is disabled. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings → About; installing an update requires your approval. Your license, preferences, and downloaded model remain on your Mac across app updates.

Purposes, retention & sharing

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process purchase and activation information to perform the contract, maintain necessary records to meet legal obligations, and protect and support the service under legitimate interests where appropriate. We do not sell your writing or personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We disclose data to service providers as necessary, to comply with lawful requirements, or in a business transfer subject to applicable privacy protections.

Receipt access expires after 30 days. Receipt records may be retained for purchase support and abuse prevention. Rate-limit counts reset every five minutes; hashed rate-limit records remain until removed during maintenance. These records contain no raw IP address. License and activation records remain while needed to honor the license and manage legitimate disputes. Payment and support records are retained as needed for their purpose and legal obligations. Provider logs and Stripe records follow their applicable retention policies. No system can guarantee absolute security.

DraftKey is an Aura Technologies product. Email contact@aura-technologies.co about privacy, access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection. Available rights depend on applicable law; we may reasonably verify identity. Deletion can affect license recovery, and legally required records may be retained. Where applicable, you may complain to your data-protection authority. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Tell us if you believe a child has provided it.
